OCCC is a local non-profit organization affiliated with the California Association of Local Conservation Corps, the National Association of Service and Conservation Corps, YouthBuild USA, and other youth service organizations. Funding is provided through the California Department of Conservation as well as individual, corporate contributions, grants, contracts and entrepreneurial projects.
The OCCC’s approach to employability teaches teamwork and cooperation by utilizing work projects that are beneficial to the community and the environment by creating an atmosphere where corpsmembers have the chance to develop on an educational, professional, and personal level.

Provided more than $371,800 in scholarship funds to 171 young adults.
Assisted young adults with furthering their education in local colleges, trade schools, and ROP programs.

Recycled more than 2,000,000 pounds of recyclable materials and diverted more than 3,800,000 pounds of materials from local landfills.
Participate in public educational events on recycling and protecting our land and water resources.
Complete community work projects to maintain and improve local parks, beaches, rivers/streams, recreational trails, and city/county facilities.
Complete work projects to prevent flooding and fires, neighborhood clean-ups, weatherize low-income homes, and provide emergency response.
